Music Duplicate Remover

This application puts the emphasis on helping you remove duplicate files that do nothing but waste disk space. And, as its name so adequately points out, the application puts the emphasis on a specific type of duplicates: duplicate music files. Just tell Music Duplicate Remover where to look and the application will uncover all duplicate music files. The following scanning methods are used to achieve this goal: scan by ID3 tags, scan by sound, or scan by both (ID3 tags and sound).

The application’s installer is about 2.5MB in size, which is not much. Download said installer, run it, and a setup wizard will show up and guide you through the installation process. It must be mentioned that the setup wizard provides support for multiple languages.

The panel from the left hand side of the application’s interface lists all your drives; from this panel you can choose the drives or folders you want the application to scan. After you launch a scan, all found duplicates will be presented in the panel to the right. Above these two panels there’s a traditional File menu and a toolbar with buttons for hiding the drives panel, launching the scan, and removing duplicates.

Using Music Duplicate Remover is a very simple process: select the drive or folder you want to scan, pick a scanning method (choose to scan by ID3 tags, by sound, or both), and launch the scanning process. In just a few moments the application will present a list of duplicates. You can now remove the duplicates, open the music files in Windows Explorer, or play music files with the built-in player.

Please note that Music Duplicate Remover is only free to try. The trial version comes with the following limitations: cannot delete more than 20 files, cannot use file operations, nag screen.
